DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIP BLUSH AND LIP NEUTRALIZATION

When choosing permanent makeup lip procedure, many clients ask:
“What is the difference between Lip Blush and Lip Neutralization?”

Answer is simple and important to understand:
technique is the same — color choice is different.
Deciding factor is your natural lip color.

• If you have light or even-toned lips, treatment is usually referred to as Lip Blush
• If you have dark, cool-toned or pigmented lips, process is referred to as Lip Neutralization

It’s important to understand that Lip Neutralization and Lip Blush are not two separate procedures that must be done one after another. They are performed using the same technique. Difference is not the method, but how many sessions are needed and which pigments are used to reach desired result.

Clients with darker or more pigmented lips may require more sessions to gradually correct and lighten natural lip color before achieving their ideal shade.

Sometimes clients ask if they can do Lip Blush right away instead of Lip Neutralization. In reality, we always work with your natural lip color. Pigments and session plan are chosen based on your starting point to safely achieve the result you want, rather than forcing a color that won’t heal correctly.

Lip Blush vs
Lip Neutralization

Lip Blush is for clients who have naturally light lips or an even lip tone.

Procedure enhances lips by adding color and definition while keeping a soft, natural look.

Depending on your preference, Lip Blush can be done using:
• Soft pinks and nude shades
• Natural “my lips but better” tones
• Brighter or more vibrant colors for a lipstick effect

Lip Blush is ideal if your lips do not have strong darkness, cool undertones, or heavy pigmentation.

Lip Blush for Light or Even-Toned Lips

Lip Neutralization is designed for clients with naturally darker lips, cool undertones or uneven pigmentation.

This procedure focuses on corrective pigments designed to:

• Neutralize dark, purple, brown, or gray tones
• Gradually lighten the lips
• Create a more even, natural base color

Lip Neutralization is not about adding pink lipstick color right away. It is a corrective process that prepares lips for a lighter, natural tone. In many cases, multiple sessions are required to achieve balanced results safely.

Lip Neutralization for Dark or Pigmented Lips

Both Lip Blush and Lip Neutralization use the same PMU technique. Pigment is implanted gently into the lips using the same method.

Only difference is:
• Lip Blush focuses on color enhancement
• Lip Neutralization focuses on color correction

This is why correct procedure is determined by your starting lip color, not by the name of the treatment.
